I am originally from the Deep South but now reside with my wife and cantankerous Border Collie, in East Anglia where it rains and snows a ridiculous amount.
After a long and uninteresting career in financial services where I was made redundant more times than I care to recall, I decided to retrain and during an enforced rehabilitation period following major back surgery, I studied for and passed
my Copy Editing and Proofreading Diplomas. Now I spend my days helping both new and established writers to hone their craft and polish their work. I have worked on nearly 300 books now covering just about every genre and still love the buzz I get from helping authors on their journey to publication.
I am also the author of 5 heroic fantasy novels and an anthology of prize-winning short horror stories. Another 150 of my short stories have been published either online or in print anthologies with such people as Secret Attic, Horrified Press, 13 0’clock Press, Static Movement and Spinetinglers to name but a few.
I love ancient history and anything to do with World War One, so it will come as no surprise that I love reading books by great authors like Cornwell, Jackson, Scarrow and Kane. That said, my favourite authors are the late David Gemmell and James Herbert, both masters of their chosen genre.
When I am not writing or editing, I am usually out on my bike dreaming up new plot lines or wandering around antique centres reliving my distant youth.
If you like writing or reading flash fiction, I also judge the Weekly Write here in the Secret Attic.
